  Whether your client is the spouse, partner, parent, child, or friend of an addicted person, the key to recovery lies in shifting the loved one’s focus away from the addict’s problems to their own self-care, thus coming off the roller- coaster of addiction so they can ultimately live their best lives.
  
  Learning Objectives: The differences between “Helping” and “Enabling” when dealing with an addicted loved one. How to assist the loved ones of addicts to focus on their own self-care, in order to not become “addicted to the addict’s addiction.”
